I saved a life today…
…well that’s what they say when you give blood isn’t it - and it was yesterday not today lol. I can imagine though that they’ll send it back saying it’s tainted/unusable. Wouldn’t that be hilarious, getting your blood back in the post with an unwanted sticker on it!
Anyway, it was a new experience for me as I’d always wanted to do it but never pushed myself that little bit more to actually go and do it. It was good, I just felt a little bit sick but that’s only because all my ‘accessible’ veins are on the outer edge of my arm where all the nerves are. And let me tell you, if they hit a nerve it doesn’t half feel like someone’s sucked the life out of you (I had a bad nurse once try and take a blood sample - she hit a nerve instead of my vein, didn’t realise, took one look at my completely pale white face and dazed eyes and said ‘are you alright you look like your going to pass out’. Silly woman). I am interested in finding out what blood time I am though.
Why not have a go yourself and save a life too!
